Plan for a new dog park heads to county board
DANE COUNTY (WKOW) — Dane County is working on opening a new dog park.
The off-leash dog area would be at Anderson Farm County Park just south of Oregon.
Tonight, the Dane County Park Commission met at a different park to approve a contract with an engineering firm for design work on the new dog site.
The park is named after Lyman Anderson, a former county supervisor who loved dogs.
“I’m sure Lyman would have loved it,” said Dave Ripp, chairman of the Dane County Park Commission. “I know his family does. Lyman died a few years ago, but his family just thinks it’s a great idea.”
The dog park plan heads to the county board next week.
Right now, Dane County has seven off-leash dog parks.
