MADISON (WKOW) — September has started quietly, but it’s likely to become a bit noisy before you head back to work on Tuesday.
Having said that, your Labor Day plans should work out just fine. Early clouds will give way to partial sunshine by afternoon with temps topping out around 80°. The unofficial end of summer should feel like summer, aided by dew points rising into the mid 60s.
An approaching warm front later Monday night will interact with this warmer and more unstable air mass, likely leading to a round of showers and t-storms. A few of t-storms could be on the stronger side, something we’ll have to keep an eye on. After this batch clears early Tuesday morning, our focus will shift to a trailing cold front which might trigger a few more storms Tuesday afternoon. This second chance is more “up in the air” – we’ll have to wait and see. Tuesday will feel even more like summer with highs in the low to mid 80s.
A more fall-like feel will follow for Wednesday behind Tuesday’s cold front; expect plenty of sunshine with highs near 70°.
