MADISON (WKOW) — A local credit union is working with the United Way to create more affordable housing options for people in the Madison area.
The UW Credit Union announced on Wednesday that they’re contributing $150,000 to the United Way’s Affordable Housing Fund. It created and maintains more affordable options for working families in hopes of ending family homelessness.
“We often look for where we can deliver the most impact and I’m fortunate enough to work with an organization that recognizes the real impact affordable housing has,” said Jaimes Johnson, Director of Community Partnerships at UW-Credit Union.
The first project in the works through this fund is a 44-unit apartment building on E. Washington Avenue.
