MADISON (WKOW) – Very intense rain is expected to fall from Madison south tonight before wrapping up Thursday morning.
After picking up 1-3 inches of rain widespread early Tuesday, our ground is wet and with another 2-4″ of rain on the way through Thursday night, low-lying areas may experience flooding as more storms move in.
A cold front advancing towards our area this afternoon will bringing the potential of scattered strong to severe thunderstorms through the overnight hours. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH is in effect until 10 p.m.
Conditions are warm and humid with afternoon temperatures in the low to mid 80s.
More scattered thunderstorms are expected during the day on Thursday before numerous strong to severe storms with heavy rain move through Thursday night.
Friday will be brighter and milder on the back side of our departing weather system. Temps peak in the low 70s.
