UPDATE (WKOW) — The man whose remains were found near a burned down hunting stand in Juneau County has been identified as Gary J. Wojtowicz.
The Juneau County Sheriff’s Office says the incident is still under investigation, but foul play is not suspected in this case.
PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP (WKOW) — Human remains were found near what appeared to be a burned down hunting stand in Juneau County Sunday morning, according to the Juneau County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers responded to a home in Plymouth Township at about 11 a.m. for a welfare check. Deputies then learned a 57-year-old man from Windsor had not been in contact with family since Friday, Sept. 13 when he unexpectedly left his home.
Family located the man’s car, abandoned, on their hunting property in Plymouth Township.
Using a tracking K9, deputies were able to find human remains believed to be that of the missing man.
The incident remains under investigation by the Juneau County Sheriff’s Office and the Juneau County Medical Examiner’s Office.
