Madison woman, family members, confront man accused of stealing from car

MADISON (WKOW) — A Fish Hatchery Road woman and family members confronted a man about 1 a.m. Tuesday who was rummaging through the resident’s car after being alerted by a neighbor.

Tyler J. Wood, 36, Monona, faces possible charges of theft from motor vehicle, disorderly conduct and bail jumping.

Police say Wood attempted to leave with some of the resident’s belongings, including a debit card, when he was confronted by the family.

There was a scuffle between the suspect, the victim, and her family members, according to a Madison Police Department incident report.

In the end, police say Wood dropped the stolen property as police were called. He was located and arrested.
