MILWAUKEE (WKOW) — Investigators in Milwaukee are looking into the death of a police officer, two years after he was involved in a crash while on duty.
Thursday afternoon, a procession of police officers guided the body of officer Mark Lentz to a funeral home.
He had been with the police department for 18 years.
Lentz was hit in August of 2017 and at the time, he was treated for road rash and pain in his arms and legs.
He returned to work, but his health steadily declined until he died Wednesday.
His official cause of death has not been determined.
