UPDATE: One arrested in weekend Fitchburg shooting

FITCHBURG (WKOW) — Fitchburg police say one person has been arrested following a shooting over the weekend.

Shaquita Lee, 22, Fitchburg faces possible charges of first-degree attempted homicide.

According to the Fitchburg police, officers responded about noon on Sept. 29 to a report of shots fired, where they found two people with gunshot wounds in a parking lot in the 2100 block of High Ridge Trail.

Lee is accused of shooting a 21-year-old woman who faces life threatening injuries. Lee also was shot, but police weren’t clear on who shot her.

Police did interview a 28-year-old man who they say man have fired additional shots during the incident, and he is cooperating, police say.

A third person, a 49-year-old woman, later arrived at the hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound, according to officials. They said they believe that person was shot in the same incident on High Ridge Trail.

Additional arrests are possible, police say.

Officials believe the people involved in this incident know each other and that the crime doesn’t appear random.

Fitchburg Police Department and Dane County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the incident.
