(WKOW) — Officials in northeastern Wisconsin say a drug bust last month may be the largest in the state’s history.
Authorities say they seized nearly 60 pounds of meth as well as other drugs from Derek Liebergan’s hotel room in Grand Chute.
He’s one of nine people now facing federal charges.
During his arrest in the hotel lobby, deputies say they also found a gun in his waistband.
“This fits what the federal government is looking for as far as deterring this stuff from moving throughout the United States and then working back to the source,” said Brown County Sheriff Todd Delain
Delain says local, state and federal authorities worked together on this case, which they believe began in Missouri.
A criminal complaint says Liebergan traveled to Wisconsin to pay off an old debt.
