Prairie du Sac man crushed to death when feed bunk wall collapses

SAUK COUNTY (WKOW) — A Prairie du Sac man was crushed to death Tuesday after a feed bunk wall collapsed and rolled the tractor he was operating.

Sauk County Communications received a 911 call about 4 p.m. Oct. 8 about a person pinned under a farm tractor on Jacoby Road in the Township of Honey Creek.

The sheriff’s office says the 72-year-old man was operating a farm tractor on an elevated feed bunk, off the roadway when part of the feed bunk wall collapsed, causing the tractor to roll onto its side.

The driver suffered severe crushing injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Sauk County Coroner’s Office.

The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Sauk City Fire Department, Sauk Prairie EMS and Sauk County Coroner’s Office. The name of the tractor operator is being withheld at this time.
