Beloit College president encourages ‘thoughtful’ protest at Cheney visit

BELOIT (WKOW) — The leadership at Beloit College is encouraging students to, “hold this elected official accountable to his record,” while also calling for a respectful response to a visit by former Vice President Dick Cheney.

Cheney will speak Thursday night at 7 p.m. on campus at the invitation of the Young America’s Foundation and will be interviewed by the group’s president-elect, former Gov. Scott Walker.

In a campus-wide email, Beloit College President Scott Bierman said that he is encouraging “thoughtful and respectful responses to Cheney’s visit.”
