SAUK COUNTY (WKOW) — A Richland Center woman has been arrested in connection with the homicide of Westfield man found dead in a rural Sauk County recreational area.
Amber M. Lundgren, 35, admitted to causing the death of Christopher Lytle when investigators interviewed her on Oct. 9, according to a news release from the Sauk County Sheriff.’
Lytle was killed at the same place where the body was found, according to the news release.
Lytle’s body was found Sept. 22 in Fairfield Township along Levee Road near Pine Island Wildlife area.
Detectives say there was a prior relationship between Lytle and Lundgren and that this was not a random act.
Detectives made contact with Lundgren in the morning of Oct. 9, and confronted her with the evidence obtained throughout the investigation, after which she admitted to causing the death of Lytle on Sept. 21, according to a news release from the Sauk County sheriff.
This investigation is continuing at this time. A probable cause statement is being prepared and will be forwarded to the Sauk County District Attorney’s Office for preparation of the Criminal Complaint.
A date for Lundgren’s bail appearance has not yet been set. She remains in custody at the Sauk County Jail awaiting that hearing.
Specific details of the crime and statements of the suspect are being withheld at this time in order for the evidence to be presented through the orderly procedures of the court so as not to circumvent the pre-trial discovery process so that the Defendant receives a fair trial.
