Badger football commit Jack Nelson was presented with his high school All-American Bowl jersey Wednesday morning. It’s the jersey the Stoughton High offensive lineman will wear for the West team in this national high school all-star game.
Last year Wisconsin quarterback Graham Mertz played in the bowl game earned MVP honors. Nelson is excited for the opportunity to pshow what he can do on a national level.
“To be honest I didn’t really think about [the possibility of being selected for this game],” said Nelson. “I just kept on trying to improve every day and, you know, just keep on compounding my goals and my success. I can’t wait to represent my state, my city, my school… I’m really happy.”
“He’s worked really hard the last four years so it’s good to see hard work pay off,” said Nelson’s Stoughton football coach, Dan Prahl. “For a young man who’s devoted a lot of time and energy into this beautiful sport so I’m happy for him.”
The All-American Bowl will be played on Saturday, January 4th, at 1pm CT.
