Womens College Soccer: No.10 Wisconsin blanks Nebraska

The No.10 Wisconsin women’s soccer team extended its unbeaten run to eight games thanks to a 2-0 win over Nebraska on Sunday afternoon at the McClimon Soccer Complex.

With the win, the Badgers (11-2-2, 7-0-1) are tied for first place in the Big Ten Conference with Michigan, but have played one game fewer than the Wolverines.

After Nebraska (4-9-4, 3-5-2) controlled play early on, Badger freshman Emma Jaskaniec scored her second collegiate goal in the 3nd minute, resulting from a free kick into the box by Claire Shea. The freshman was able to find the ball and land it in the back of the net.

In the second half, Cameron Murtha scored 68th minute, after an assist from Dani Rhodes. This is the second time in two consecutive games that this duo was able to put up points on the scoreboard after Murtha scored in the Badgers’ 2-2 draw against Iowa on Thursday.
