MADISON (WKOW) — Madison’s mayor met with the community Saturday morning for her first neighborhood roundtable.
They gathered at the Central Library downtown, to focus on the city’s housing challenges.
Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway says about 3,000 people move to Madison every year, so the city needs to be prepared to provide quality housing for everyone’s needs.
“We’ve got to be ready. And we got to figure out how to be ready. And so I put that challenge to you. We’re working hard on it. But there’s a lot of smart people in this room. And I look forward to hearing your thoughts and your ideas about this challenge,” she told the group.
Mayor Rhodes-Conway says she hopes the roundtable helped neighbors understand the scope of the housing problem and its impact on the community.
