WESTON, Wis. (WAOW) – If there’s one thing Wisconsonites agree on, it’s that there’s no such thing as ‘too much cheese,’ but a Wausau man may have taken that too far.
On Monday, 10/28, Everest Metro Police were called to the Pizza Hut in the 2700 block of Schofield Avenue in Weston.
According to a police report, an officer arrived around 12:30pm after the store reported a man entered the store, swearing and yelling at staff because he was dissatisfied with his personal pan pizza.
Per staff interviews, it started when a woman came in around 11:48am and ordered said pizza, asking for extra cheese. After it was made, the woman reportedly returned to the store and said her boyfriend wouldn’t eat the pizza, because there wasn’t enough cheese on it.
Staff told police they informed the woman they would remake the pizza, but it would have the same amount of cheese as the first. The woman allegedly threw the first pizza away and left.
A few minutes later, the woman and a man entered the store. According to the police report, he was ‘yelling, screaming and acting strange.’ When told they would make him a new pizza, the man allegedly said he wouldn’t eat it and ‘not to spit in it.’
The manager, feeling threatened by the man’s actions, called police, at which time the pair left.
On Tuesday, 10/29, police – having found the man’s address – confronted him at his home to ask about the incident. The man claimed the store manager refused to give a refund and argued with her.
The officer replied that information was different from what several witnesses said, and issued a citation for disorderly conduct.
The man allegedly replied he didn’t believe he should be issued a citation “because he is an American and works hard.”
