UPDATE: Police release suspect vehicle information in Beloit homicide

UPDATE (WKOW) — Police identified possible suspect vehicles in Saturday’s homicide.

According to a Facebook post, they are looking for a larger silver SUV and a blue VW sedan with possible broken windows.

Both vehicles are believed to be connected to the homicide.

Earlier Saturday, police said a 34-year-old man was pronounced dead shortly before 5:00 a.m. after a shooting on Newfield Drive around 4:00 a.m.


BELOIT (WKOW) — Beloit police are investigating a homicide that happened early Saturday morning.

Police said a man was shot outside just before 4 a.m. on Newfield Drive.

27 news spoke with multiple neighbors there, who didn’t want to identify themselves for risk of retaliation.

Many of them shared that they were awoken by 4-5 gunshots.

After hearing a scream they went outside where police were already trying to help resuscitate the man on the ground.

The 34-year-old man was pronounced dead at Beloit Memorial Hospital about an hour later.

A few of the people knew the victim, but say he didn’t live in in the neighborhood.

Many of the neighbors said they were shocked to see something like this happening in their typically quiet neighborhood.

They said they couldn’t remember the last time a similarly violent incident happened.

Beloit Police are asking neighbors or people in the area for their help by submitting tips or giving them at a call at 608-757-2244.
