Wisconsin mother gives birth in gas station parking lot

DENMARK — A Manitowoc couple got an unexpected surprise this week when their baby came early … in a Kwik Trip parking lot.

Tyler and Callie Gass weren’t expecting their baby boy for two more months, but he was ready to come now.

“He’ll definitely know that this is how he came into the world. A little scary, but all is good now,” Callie told WBAY-TV.

As the couple was rushing to a hospital, they were forced to pull into the Kwik Trip parking lot in Denmark as Callie gave birth.

EMTs arrived in less than 10 minutes, transporting both mom and the baby to a Green Bay hospital.

Camden Jeffrey Gass continues to grow stronger everyday in the neonatal intensive care unit.

Obviously, the couple never expected to give birth at Kwik Trip, but the convenience store has actually played a big role in their relationship.

“We met at Kwik Trip in 2008. Her mom worked there. 2010 we started dating, and yeah Kwik Trip has always been a pretty big part of both of our lives,” Tyler said.

Kwik Trip says Camden is not the first baby born at one of its gas stations, but the company says it’s always a joy when it does happen.
