Crews to begin soil drilling & testing at Madison’s Reindahl Park

MADISON (WKOW) — The City of Madison is planning to build a new library and community facility, called Imagination Center at Reindahl Park, and wants to make sure its future home can handle the building.

Within the next few weeks, crews will begin drilling holes to test the consistency, strength and durability of the soil in Reindahl Park.

City officials say information from the soil will help engineers plan the building foundation, floor slab, pavement design, construction and stormwater infiltration potential.

Drilling should be completed by the end of the week of December 2.

As long as everything checks out, an initial plan for the new facility will come out in the first half of 2020. The design should be completed in 2021 and construction is budgeted to begin in 2022.
