Middleton mayor announces re-election bid

MIDDLETON (WKOW) — Middleton Mayor Gurdip Brar has announced that he will run for re-election next year.

The spring election is scheduled for April 7, 2020.

Brar, a former Middleton alder, was first elected mayor in April 2017.

In a news release Monday announcing his re-election bid, Brar touted his work on improving roads during the past two years.

He also highlighted recovery from the devastating floods of 2018.

“Most of our trails and all the bridges have now been opened for the citizens to use. Donna Drive detention pond is fixed and the Park Street hill, among other projects, are in the process of being repaired. I have successfully worked with Dane county to get $900,000 in grants to repair our flood-damaged nature conservancy areas,” Brar said in a news release.

Brar also said fiscal responsibility, sustainability and work with the Middleton Cross Plains School District as priorities.
