Iowa man leads authorities on tristate chase, deputies say

DUBUQUE, Iowa (WKOW) -- Authorities arrested an Iowa man after a protracted chase through his home state, Illinois and Wisconsin Monday night.

Deputies took Adam Joseph Reinert, 22, from Dubuque into custody on charges of aggravated fleeing, reckless driving, speeding 35 mph over and driving with a revoked license, according to a press release from the Jo Daviess County, Illinois Sheriff's Office.

Illinois authorities said they first became aware of the chase as Iowa deputies allegedly followed Reinert across the border.

The pursuit turned into Wisconsin via Badger Road and Highway 35. It then started across the Wisconsin/Iowa bridge before turning around and heading east on Highway 11.

In Hazel Green, the chase turned south back into Illinois. At the intersection of Illinois Route 84 and U.S. Highway 20 Reinert allegedly crashed into a Jo Daviess County squad.

Deputies arrest Reinert and briefly detained two alleged passengers, the sheriff's office said. One of the passengers was taken to Midwest Medical Center as a precaution.

The chase remains under investigation, the sheriff's office said.
