Junior running back Jonathan Taylor, who has rushed for more yards than any other FBS running back has ever rushed through their junior season, was named the Big Ten Ameche-Dayne Running Back of the Year on Wednesday. This is the second time that Taylor has been awarded as the conference's Running Back of the year, which is named for former UW running backs Alan Ameche and Ron Dayne.
So far this season, Taylor has rushed for 1761 yards and 20 touchdowns. He also has more than 200 receiving yards and 5 touchdown receptions. Overall, the 2018 Doak Walker Award winner 6,288 all-purpose yards and 54 total touchdowns in his Badger football career.
One of the men in charge of blocking for Taylor, Tyler Biadasz, was named to the All-Big Ten first team. Another offensive lineman, Cole Van Lanen, was named to the second team, as selected by the media.
