Apartment caught in crosshairs of vehicle shooting

MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police said a mother and her children were not hurt when their apartment home was hit by gunfire late Friday.

According to a news release, police found a vehicle on Britta Parkway near Verona Rd. and the Beltline that looked like someone had been shooting from and at it. Shell casings were found.

Police said one of those rounds hit the home where the women and her children were sleeping.

Police don't think anyone was hurt. They have not found the shooter or shooters. The vehicle was taken in as evidence.
