UPDATE: Authorities investigating shooting in Rock County

UPDATE (WKOW) -- Authorities in the Town of Rock are looking for a man involved in a shooting late Saturday night.

According to the Rock County Sheriff's office, someone called the police around 8:30 pm to report gunshots near Highway 51.

During their investigation, that same person told authorities they saw a white Tahoe driving down Highway 51. According to the witness, someone jumped onto the Tahoe while it was driving away from the scene.

Authorities later learned the person who jumped on the car was the gun shot victim. He was dropped off at Mercy Hospital but never went in.

Anyone with information about who the man is or information about what happened is asked to call Janesville Area Crime Stoppers or Beloit Area Crime Stoppers.


ROCK COUNTY (WKOW) -- Authorities are responding right now to a report of shots fired in Janesville.

According to Rock County Communications, the sheriff's office got the call of shots fired at 2916 S. Highway 51 around 8:20 p.m. Saturday night.

Responders are still on scene and officials say it's an active investigation right now.

Deputies tell 27 News the shooting happened at Vera's House of Bridals.

According to the Department of Transportation all southbound lanes are blocked at the intersection of Highway 51 and Wisconsin Highway 11.

WisDOT is estmating the closure to last two hours.
