MADISON (WKOW) -- It wasn't too cold to bike around Madison Saturday -- for those in the right attire.
The Madison Santa Rampage took off around noon.
About 100 cyclists, dressed mostly as Santa (with some elves and reindeer scattered throughout), rode to the library mall and then around the Capitol, and to spread holiday cheer.
"I think it's one of the only times that when you're riding your bike, most drivers will smile and wave at you, so that's a different feeling," said Jake Newborn, assistant director of the Wisconsin Bike Federation. "It's just a time to celebrate the season and to put some smiles on peoples' faces while riding a bike."
Donations and registration fees went toward various community-based initiatives from the Wisconsin Bike Federation.
The Santa Rampage started 17 years ago in Milwaukee and has since spread across the globe.
