MADISON (WKOW) -- Every presidential election is important but this one is likely to determine what kind of nation we'll be for a generation to come.

This week on Capital City Sunday we breakdown the latest polling in Wisconsin and nationwide, taking a hard look at the candidates aiming to defeat President Donald Trump.

Our panel includes UW-Professor Barry Burden, Molly Beck political reporter for Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and Charles Franklin, Poll Director for Marquette University.

We also discuss who’s leading in a crowded Democratic field as the Iowa caucuses are less than two months away. The panel also weighs in how the impeachment vote will impact President Trump and Democrats heading into the new year.

At the state level, it’s been one year since Republicans pass lame duck laws before the current administration took over.

Scot Ross, Democratic strategist and Bill McCoshen, Republican strategist tell us the lasting impacts and the financial fallout since the laws were enacted.
