MADISON (WKOW) -- Badgers fans in Madison may be just as excited to see Wisconsin play in the Rose Bowl as the ones who traveled to Pasadena.
There was lots of excitement during the Badgers close battle with the Ducks at Union South on the UW-Madison campus.
One Madison couple says it's become a tradition for them to visit the Sett to watch the Badgers.
"We're here because it's more fun to watch the Badgers in a crowd, particularly in bowl games," said Fred Coleman. "We've come to all the modern era bowl games here at the Sett, or somewhere in the building here and I just really enjoy the energy of the crowd."
Fans of all ages told us they were happy to see the Badgers make it to the Rose Bowl again, after some time away from Pasadena.
"They've been doing pretty good," said Sam Thill, a young fan from Madison.
27 News also caught up with a group of former UW Marching Band tuba players, meeting up to watch the game together.
When they were students back in the 80's, they never had a chance to go to the Rose Bowl, but they say if they can't be in Pasadena, there's no better place to see the Badgers play.
"We're just happy to all be here enjoying the Badgers in the Rose Bowl, we gather together any chance we get and this is a great excuse," said Derek Schaller, who lives in Madison now.
This is the Badgers 10th Rose Bowl, including one in 2012 against the Ducks, which they lost by just one touchdown.
