MADISON (WKOW) -- A Madison gas station clerk was put in a sticky situation when a customer threw a baked good at him while trying to steal snacks, said the Madison Police Department.

It happened just before 3 a.m. Tuesday at the Mobil gas station in the 3000 block of West Washington Avenue.

The store employee noticed a woman, 36-year-old Shacole Burks, eating from a bag of Combos-- while hiding other snacks in her jacket.

When Burks went to the register to pay for a sticky bun, the employee asked her about the Combos and other unpaid snacks in her coat. She became upset and threw the sticky bun at the employee. He then hurled it back at her.

A person nearby flagged down an officer and told them what was happening. That officer witnesses Burks pull down a display, sending baked goods across the floor.

Burks gave the officer a fake name and denied stealing anything or eating snacks. When the officer pointed to the crumbs on her lip she admitted to eating snacks, with the intention of paying for them.

Shacole Burks was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting/obstructing, felony bail jumping and on four warrants.
