Big Ten suspends Wisconsin’s Weissbach

The Big Ten Conference has suspended Wisconsin hockey player Linus Weissbach for one game under the conference’s supplemental discipline process, as a result of an incident that occurred in a game against Ohio State Friday night at the Kohl Center.

Weissbach received a major penalty in the game for hitting from behind and a game misconduct. He is ineligible to play in tonight’s game against Ohio State.

The Ohio State player, CJ Regula sustained a neck injury. He was taken to the local hospital for evaluation. He was released last night and is expected to make a full recovery according to the Ohio State men's hockey Twitter account.

Game two of the series is scheduled for a 7 p.m. puckdrop Saturday night at the Kohl Center.
