MADISON (WKOW) -- After almost 10 years of working the streets of Madison, Slim, a police department K-9, is ready for retirement.

He's looking ahead to long walks, resting in the sun and complete relaxation, according to a Madison Police Department news release.

Slim became a member of the Madison Police Department on Feb. 1, 2010, and has been working with his partner, Officer Carren Corcoran, ever since.

Slim will retire at an official ceremony Saturday.

Congratulations K9 Slim and Officer Corcoran.
