MADISON (WKOW) -- Alliant Energy Center in Madison was packed with more than 6,000 people on Saturday, celebrating Wisconsin's heritage.
More than 130 brewers and 17 cheesemakers set up for the 11th annual Isthmus Beer and Cheese Fest.
Those who showed up could see the world's largest Wisconsin cheeseboard, with more than 1,000 pounds of cheese.
Organizers say they wanted to give people a way to experience what they usually only read about in the Isthmus.
"We write about beer and we write about cheese all year long, and we wanted to start a fest to connect the brewers and cheesemakers from across the state to Madison and all of Wisconsin who comes to the fest," said Chelsey DeQuaine-Jerabek, social media and marketing director for the Isthmus.
There were hundreds of creations available to sample. Organizers say they sold out of tickets quickly.
