Quiet and cold through Tuesday, light snow returns Wednesday

MADISON (WKOW) - Our weather pattern goes from a cold and dry to mild and active starting mid week.

You may have found the afternoon to be on the pleasant side provided that you layered up properly. Sunny skies and light winds helped to counter temps in the low to mid 20s.

One, final very cold night with temps in the single digits; at least winds will stay light.

Mostly sunny conditions on Tuesday as high pressure remains in control. Temps will get to the mid 20s again.

Most days have been cloudy this month; enjoy the sunny conditions Monday and Tuesday!

Wednesday, winds will pick up out of the southwest ushering in a milder trend with highs in the mid 30s.

More moisture moves in as a trough of low pressure develops. It'll certainly be cloudier and by late-day, scattered light snow will develop from west to east.

Expect a light rain/snow mix Thursday and Friday before quieting down and staying mild this weekend.
