Alleged gun-toting Madison West High teen also accused of armed robbery

MADISON (WKOW) - A Madison West High School teenager accused of bringing a loaded gun to school is also accused of an armed robbery.

Authorities say 18-year old Tyrese Williams pulled out a gun Saturday and stole marijuana, a back pack and a cell phone from an acquaintance on Post Road as a proposed, drug deal collapsed. "(Witness) stated Tyrese Williams said, 'this never happened, if this gets out you get shot,' " according to a Dane County search warrant affidavit.

Madison Police say an officer at West High School discovered a loaded gun in Williams's back pack Tuesday and arrested him.

Williams's classmate, Suede Allen, says the seniors took a final test together Tuesday before the arrest. "I feel like he had a gun because he was in fear of his life," Allen says.

The affidavit says Williams told officers the gun was at school because he simply brought the wrong back pack with him to West High.

Williams remains in the Dane County jail, with no bail amount determined and no court date scheduled as of Thursday.
