Police: Shot fired after Sub Zero employee follows men casing vehicles in parking lot

FITCHBURG (WKOW) -- Police say several men were looking through cars in the Sub Zero parking lot and when an employee followed them as they drove off, a gunshot was fired from their vehicle.

The Fitchburg Police Department says officers were called to Sub Zero at 6061 Basswood Drive around 8:15 p.m. Thursday.

Police say employees saw three men going through the parking lot and looking into cars. Officers say the suspects set off a car alarm, ran back to their vehicle and took off.

An employee followed them in his own vehicle.

After that, police say a shot was fired from the suspect vehicle.

The employee was not hurt. Police say they could not find any damage to property, but they did find a spent shell casing.
