MADISON (WKOW) -- Dane County Executive Joe Parisi announced Friday the new Interim Director of the Alliant Energy Center.

Sharon Corrigan, the former Dane County Board Chair who resigned on Thursday, will be starting the new position on Jan. 28.

According to a press release, Corrigan will oversee the campus, work closely with clients and make improvements to help bring in more visitors.

“Corrigan brings a depth of knowledge and a unique skill set to the position that will serve the community well and keep the positive momentum of the Alliant Energy Center going strong,” Parisi said.

The facility hosts more than 500 events annually, including major conferences, conventions, and trade shows.

Corrigan says she’s excited to lead and make improvements to the Alliant Energy Center in this new role.

“I know I’m accepting this big job, there are many things going on with existing events and setting up for the very near future,” said Corrigan. “We’ve got a lot of work to do so I’m honored to engage in the work until May.”

The Dane County Executive Office hope to have a permanent director in place within the next couple of months.
