MADISON (WKOW) -- A dinner in Madison meant to bring cooks of all cultures together, was cancelled Saturday because of fears of coronavirus.
A sign was posted on the door, notifying people of the cancellation and saying the health and safety of all participants was of great importance.
The dinner was also going to be a Chinese new year celebration and the organizer told 27 News, with some people recently returning from China, they didn't want to risk it.
There will be another dinner next month.
International Cooking & Dinner events have been held every month for the past 11 years at the Christ Presbyterian Church on East Gorham St.
It's a cross-cultural event where people from all over the world use the kitchen for cooking, sharing recipes, and eat together. The event usually draws around 150 people with 20 to 30 countries represented each time.
It's a program of Madison International Partners
