The Gophers scored five straight unanswered goals to close out a 6-2 win over the Badgers Friday night at Kohl Center.
Juniors Tarek Baker and Ty Pelton-Byce each scored for Wisconsin giving the Badgers a 2-1 lead deep into the second period.
Minnesota broke open the game with two goals in the back half of the second period along with two more goals in the third on their way to the win.
With the loss, Wisconsin drops to 10-14-1 overall and 5-11-1-1 in the Big Ten.
Game two of this series is scheduled for 8 p.m. on Saturday at the Kohl Center.
