DARLINGTON (WKOW) -- Darlington police arrested a sex offender who allegedly was on the lam after cutting off his tracking bracelet.
Authorities caught 48-year-old Matthew Buman around 1:30 a.m. Friday, according to Darlington police. Officers found him at a local tavern.
Buman is being held at the Lafayette County Jail on a Department of Corrections hold.
Authorities said Thursday that they believed Buman cut off his GPS tracking bracelet and may have been with Timothy Fitzsimons, another wanted man.
Buman was not with the other man when police apprehended him. Fitzsimons has not yet been caught.
Police previously said that they did not consider either man to be dangerous.
