DANE COUNTY (WKOW) -- While driving along Highway 14 in Dane County Wednesday, a few drivers noticed one driver acting erratically.
As they got near Cross Plains, one started recording video with his phone mounted to the dash to document the other driver's behavior, while another called 911.
At one point within the Cross Plains city limits, the erratic driver jumped a median, nearly hit a school bus and another car before correcting back onto the road.
Moments later, that driver hit the other curb before straightening back out. She was able to keep going straight for almost a minute before swerving back and forth.
The driver who was recording this whole thing stopped for a time after passing County Road KP.
About three miles down they road, as they passed Schultz Road, he started recording the erratic driver again, following her car until she made her most dramatic move: driving into oncoming traffic and into a ditch along Highway 14.
She then continued driving on a snowmobile trail until she finally stopped near County Road F.
The two drivers following confronted her and kept her from driving with 911 still on the phone.
About 10 minutes later a Dane County deputy showed up to give the woman a field sobriety test, which she failed.
According to a detective with Dane County Sheriff's Office, the driver was cited for her first OWI offense, reckless driving and operating while revoked.
According to Dane County officials, she was in and out of jail on Wednesday.
