Richland Schools cancel all classes Thursday due to illness

RICHLAND CENTER (WKOW) -- The Richland School District is cancelling class Thursday because of an illness outbreak.

A business official with the school district, Steve Board, tells 27 News all three elementary schools, the middle and high schools will be closed because of a high number of absences the past two days.

Earlier in the day, the school district posted on its Facebook page it was monitoring an outbreak of influenza in the community.

In addition to schools being closed, all parent-teacher conferences are cancelled for Thursday. However, teachers are asked to report to school.

The district says students were already scheduled off on Friday, so they're hoping the health of students improve by next week.
