MADISON (WKOW) - A light mix is tapering early this morning, but expect some patchy fog heading out the door.

A quick-moving area of low pressure caused a mix, with patchy fog lingering til mid-morning.

Keep your headlights on and increase driving distance between vehicles.

Otherwise, expect cloudy skies til late-day when partial clearing moves in, especially out west.

Temps stay mild in the mid to upper 40s.

High pressure moves in from the Central Plains causing clearing skies with temps only in the mid to upper 30s.

A cold front attached to a system passing through Lake Superior will cause scattered rain, developing mid-late morning out west.

That system will work its way east through the day causing more rain in the afternoon and evening. We'll pick up around a quarter to half inch of rain.

It'll be breezy and mild with highs in the mid 50s and winds out of the SW at 10-20 mph.

Thursday weather set up

High pressure moves in Friday clearing the clouds, but on the backside of the cold front, we'll be a bit cooler with highs still above average in the mid 40s.

It'll also be breezy with winds out of the NW at 10-20 mph.

Another system develops, but should stay far south. At this point, we're calling for just a slight chance for light snow.

Either way, it'll be cloudier and cooler with seasonal temps in the upper 30s.

The end of the weekend looks nice with partly to mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid 40s.
