United Way Blackhawk Region creates community fund to help during COVID-19 crisis

JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- United Way Blackhawk Region is responding to COVID-19 in the community by creating an action fund.

The nonprofit organization said this is a way to donate to help friends and neighbors affected by the coronavirus.

"United Way is proud to complement the efforts of our partners in health care, public safety, human services and emergency management," said a statement.

Since the fund launched Monday, more than $130,000 has been raised.  

You can give to the COVID-19 Action Fund by clicking HERE or by texting GiveCovid to 41444.

United Way Blackhawk Region officials are reminding the public about its 211 information and referral service. If you are in need of services, dial 211 or text your zip code to 898-211 to be connected to someone who can help. You can also visit the 211 website.
