WASHINGTON, D.C. (AP/WKOW) -- The U.S. Senate unanimously approved a $2.2 trillion COVID-19 stimulus package.
The vote was 96-0 in favor of the proposal. Four Republican Senators were not present for Wednesday night's due to self-quarantine: Sens. John Thune, Mitt Romney, Mike Lee and Rand Paul.
The rescue package is the largest economic relief bill in U.S. history.
Senate passage sends the bill to the House of Representatives. A House vote is scheduled for Friday. President Donald Trump has said he would sign the bill if it gets to his desk.
