WKOW is getting answers to your questions during the coronavirus pandemic.
One viewer asked: If you work at an essential business and you get the coronavirus, you might be wondering -- will my coworkers or my employer find out?
State health officials say they'll start with contact tracing, once you have a confirmed case.
"The effort begins to be in touch with the folks that were contacts of this positive case, to do the tracing to get people into isolation so that we can stop the spread of the disease. That may include notification of coworkers, does not necessarily mean notification of the employer themselves," says Andrea Palm with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.
She says they say they always seek a balance in protecting your privacy and the safety of others.
