MADISON (WKOW) -- Multiple UW-Madison students have tested positive for COVID-19 after returning home from a spring break trip.
"University Health Services (UHS) and Public Health Madison & Dane County (PHMDC) recently became aware of a cluster of COVID-19 cases associated with a spring break trip organized by seniors," UW-Madison's Health Services announced in a statement Friday.
Many of the students, according to the university, were members of fraternities and sororities.
The trip started in Nashville, Tennessee around March 13 and moved to Gulf Shores, Alabama around March 16.
After returning home from the trip, UW Madison's Health Services said that multiple students tested positive for COVID-19 and others are reporting similar symptoms.
UW Madison's Health Services is asking anyone who went on the trip to observe a 14-day self-quarantine.
