FITCHBURG (WKOW) -- Staff at the Fitchburg Senior Center are going the extra mile to show their regular visitors how much they're missed during the coronavirus pandemic.
Staff held a drive-by parade Wednesday afternoon where seniors could drive up, get a free face covering, a cookie, a puzzle, and a smile.
"I think its really important for them," said Jill McHone, director at the center. "For a lot of them, we're the only people they see. Its just like an extended family, and when you don't see your family for a long time, it really starts to effect your mental and emotional health."
While the center isn't holding normal activities due to Covid-19, they continue to offer home delivered meals, home checkups, medication pickups, and grocery deliveries.
