VERONA (WKOW) -- Employees at Epic Systems are doing what they can to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
Epic is working with Exact Sciences, so more people have access to their COVID-19 tests.
Instead of using paper or fax machines to document or share tests and results, they're using Epic software to connect health care organizations.
Doctors can see the data in Epic, and patients can see their information in MyChart.
"We were already set up to do it, which made it nice. The speed at which it needed to be done was definitely a challenge. We're used to doing things, big projects, complex organizations on fast timelines, but this was something unique and it was really a way to test, not only our software, but our staff, and we rose to the challenge," said Tina Perkins, vice president of implementation for Epic.
Epic reports it's donating its services to the state.
