VERONA (WKOW) -- Epic Systems is doing its part to help the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meals are planned for staff on Epic’s campus weeks in advance, which meant that when Wisconsin’s Safer at Home Order went into effect and many staff began working from home, there was suddenly a surplus of food being delivered to the campus.
Through the local nonprofit organization Badger Prairie Needs Network, the culinary team was able to turn the food into prepackaged meals and redirect it to local food pantries. From March 16 to April 16, the company donated 39,200 meals.
Epic is also partnering with UnityPoint Health-Meriter, GHC, and Dean Health Plan to provide hundreds of meals each week to those in need.
