Gyms deep clean to prepare for reopening

MADISON (WKOW) -- CrossFit Sanctify has sat nearly empty for the past two weeks, but next week people will start coming back in.

"So coming back to the gym is potentially their first venture out into public in a long time and it can cause some anxiety," Josh Earleywine, with CrossFit Sanctify, said.

To set their clients at ease, every square inch is getting disinfected.

"Kleenmark is donating time back to the local business community, so what we're doing is a four level cleaning process, so it's a very thorough cleaning," Mike Staver, with Kleenmark, said.

Kleenmark, a Madison cleaning company, has donated cleaning services for some local businesses who have been closed and want to get ready for reopening.

The folks at Sanctify are grateful.

"I mean we just have spray bottles and towels so that's good, but their equipment that they have that gets into all the nooks and crannies, that's huge," Earleywine said.

After this cleaning, they will make sure to keep up with it by limiting the amount of people doing classes inside, having a break between classes to disinfect and providing everyone spray bottles and towels to sanitize all the equipment they use.

They just want to give everyone piece of mind.

"I think that we're doing the best we can to calm some of the nerves they might have," Earleywine said.
