WASHINGTON (WKOW) -- President Donald Trump is calling on all churches to reopen immediately.

“If they don’t do it, I will override the governors,” Trump said. “In America, we need more prayer not less.”

Trump made his comments during an unscheduled briefing today at the White House.

Trump says the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention also was issuing guidance for communities of faith to hold safe gatherings.

In Wisconsin, the state Supreme Court has overturned Gov. Evers Safer at Home restrictions, including houses of worship.

However Dane County has local restrictions in place until Tuesday.

Dane County's current restrictions for churches limit capacity to 25 percent. Beginning Tuesday, under the current plan, churches will still be limited to 25 percent capacity, but groups as large as 50 people will be allowed.
